Biography

Sharon joined our Firm in 1992 and she became one of our Partners in 1996.

Sharon provides advisory, risk management, conveyancing, estate planning and administration services to the Firm’s clients. She specializes in all aspects of real estate law and is deeply involved in managing and advising on the legal aspects of residential and commercial transactions, land acquisitions, leasing and rental arrangements, property developments, real estate financing and mortgage-backed securities. Sharon has conducted training programmes for some of the Firm’s major clients on security documentation.

Sharon has specialist training in international financial transactions and has advised public and private sector clients on public sector divestments and international consultancy contracts.

Before joining the Firm, Sharon was a State Counsel in the Solicitor General’s Chambers and the Chief State Solicitor’s Department in the Ministry of the Attorney General where she developed a keen understanding of public sector transactions upon which she regularly draws.

Sharon has a keen interest in painting and the visual arts, and she is an accomplished motivational speaker.

Notable Work:

Advised foreign note holders in relation to their purchase of secured notes in the largest steel-making company in the Caribbean Region.

Advised an international airline-catering corporation in the acquisition, and eventual divestment, of shares in a local airline-catering company.

Represented the interests of the only local tyre industry (at that time) in the sale of its assets to an international corporation.

Represented an international joint venture group in submitting proposals to the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on the reform of its property tax system.

Advised an international energy corporation in its acquisition of shares in a local energy company.
