Vasheist Kokaram, our fifth partner, admitted to partnership on April 1, 2000, has a varied portfolio in commercial, industrial relations and international law. Mr Kokaram joined M.G.Daly and Partners in 1995 as an advocate in the firm’s litigation department. His civil litigation portfolio extends from Industrial Relations Law to Public Law. He also served as a part-time Mediator appointed under the Community Mediation Act.

Mr Kokaram is one of the few Attorneys-at-Law in Trinidad and Tobago to specialise in international trade and trade remedy law and was among the first Attorneys to formulate complaints before the Anti-Dumping Authority in Trinidad. He has since represented several complainants in investigations into the dumping of goods from Indonesia, Thailand, Egypt, Venezuela and China. Mr Kokaram represented the local cement industry in Trinidad before the Anti Dumping Authority and in Jamaica before the Anti Dumping and Subsidies Commission. He is also presently working closely with the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturer’s Association in Trinidad to develop proposals for the amendment to the Anti-Dumping legislation in Trinidad and Tobago and the implementation of safeguard legislation. He has made several presentations on these issues at both regional and international seminars.
