Jo-AnnE Julien - Profile

Our commercial and conveyancing partner, Ms. Jo-Anne Julien is now established as a well recognised conveyancer and commercial agreement specialist and is experienced in major property development and complex lease arrangements.  She has done important work in the standardisation of security documents for a premier client.  She also recently received an award for her advisory role in a high profile matter concerning a valued statutory authority client and for the same client was the attorney responsible for the client’s bond issue.  Ms. Julien has negotiated and drafted complex agreements involving the formation of strategic alliances for two major publicly traded companies in Trinidad and Tobago.  She has acted several times as the lead Attorney in the compilation and preparation of legal due diligence reports on financial institutions outside of Trinidad and Tobago on behalf of one of the firm’s established clients in relation to acquisitions.  In each case she has been the lead attorney in the negotiations and completion of the acquisitions.  She has acted as local counsel for a leading financial institution based in the United States which has financed the operations of a local energy related company in Trinidad and Tobago.  In this role she was responsible for the preparation of all lending and security documents in respect of the transaction in this country.

Ms. Julien has been involved in negotiations for the divestment of local companies and has been responsible for preparing the documents in connection with the sale of shares and assets of such companies.  She continues to act as legal advisor to one of the major local companies providing support services to the local telecommunications company and has revised contracts between these entities. Ms Julien has also received training in family mediation.
